Recipes
My passion for food began at an early age. My mother and grandmother are both wonderful cooks, giving me the inspiration to celebrate all that is best in Irish food, and a growing love for its special nature.
The underlying theme of our recipes is my belief in food which is clean, fresh and creative - using only the best of ingredients in accordance with the season.
There is something very comforting about a steaming hot bowl of soup. It is a great commodity to have in the fridge as a quick snack that will warm the cockles of your heart.
Take care when making your soups to cook everything sufficiently, use the very best ingredients and season everything correctly. The majority of soups can be frozen successfully and re generated as required.
In this section you will find a series of recipes to utilise for everything from a high class dinner party to a quick midweek supper option. Try the goat’s cheese terrine first!!
The majority of the starters can be prepared fully or to a certain stage in advance and then just re generated as required.
In this section you will find what I like to call ‘nibble food’ in that you can use one or two of them as a starter or just if you are in the mood for a savoury snack.
The main course is seen as the most important element to any day or to any dinner party and it is something which causes major panic to us all.
In this section I have chronicled some of my favourite main courses which are relatively easy to prepare and yet are highly impressive both in flavour and in visual quality.
Here you can find out what my favourite dishes or choice is and what we most often eat in the Dundon household.
If you keep an eye on this section each week I will tell you my favourite recipe of that week and also if I have discovered any new products I will give them mention and recipes to go with them in this section.
We at Dunbrody House try to make as much use of our kitchen garden as we can and in this section of the website I will update you on any new products we have in the garden and what we do to utilise them. Stay Tuned!
