Apple Chutney
What a wonderful way of preserving freshly grown Fruit & Vegetables straight from your garden when they are fresh and produce fantastic Chutney’s to savour all the way through the winter
Making Chutney’s are very easy and they are great to enhance any dish like curry’s to me they are the best with your favourite cheese or country style Pate
Ingredients
- serves: 4

- 1kg peeled, cored, and cooked cooking apples
- 2 medium Onions, thinly sliced
- 630g raisins
- 750g brown sugar
- 1 tbsp mustard seed
- 1 tbsp ground ginger
- 1 tbsp table salt
- 1 tbsp cider vinegar
Apple Chutney
Combine all ingredients in large heavy saucepan, stir over medium heat. Bring to a boil uncovered, stirring frequently for about 35 minutes until thick. Once thick, remove from the heat, transfer to containers and store in the refrigerator.
Note
I would Normally make heaps of this chutney in the fall and lasts all year
